“Saved by the Bell” alum Dennis Haskins, who played Mr. Belding on the beloved show, made his final public appearance nearly a decade before his death.
The actor was photographed attending an Los Angeles Clippers and San Antonio Spurs game on Dec. 29, 2018.
Haskins suited up for the occasion and was all smiles at the Crypto.com Arena, then known as the Staples Center.
Prior to the NBA game, Haskins made multiple appearances in October 2018, from the opening night performance of “A Bronx Tale” to the “Lucha Vavoom: Inside America’s Most Outrageous Show” premiere.
He was also seen walking in Los Angeles in November 2018.
Haskins has not been spotted out and about since watching the Spurs defeat the Clippers the following month.
News broke Monday of the 75-year-old’s death, with his longtime friend and caretaker confirming the news to WCTV.
His agent, Jay Schachter, subsequently opened up about the “tragic loss” to the Hollywood Reporter.
“Everyone loved Mr. Belding and those of us who got to know Dennis, loved him even more,” he told the outlet. “He was a great person, and he loved, I mean absolutely LOVED his fans.”
Schachter added, “He always had time for them, no matter what. He was my client and dear friend for over 20 years, and I will miss him terribly. I’m heartbroken.”
While Haskins’ cause of death is not yet known, an Instagram tribute posted by the Burbank, California, Dimples Karaoke bar — which Haskins was allegedly a “staple” at — claimed he suffered from Parkinson’s disease.
“He had been silent about his fight with Parkinson’s, among other health concerns, because he did not want the attention,” the lengthy caption read. “He did not want to have to tell people. He would say, ‘What do I even say?’”
The social media upload continued, “I respected his wishes and stayed quiet, and I helped him through his journey into the next chapter of his life. What a cool and amazing life he had. Rest in peace, Dennis. You were very much loved and will never be forgotten.”
