Emma Roberts knows her wedding dress was “weird” — and she doesn’t care.
The “American Horror Story” actress explained why she wore a custom-made, vintage-inspired Monique Lhuillier dress that was dipped in tea when she married Cody John in Sun Valley, Idaho in July.
“The vibe was vintage, lace, form fitting,” Roberts, 35, said on Tuesday’s episode of Kate and Oliver Hudson’s “Sibling Revelry” podcast.
Roberts admitted she “wanted to look like a haunted doll” on her wedding day, and despite what the public probably thinks, doubled down that the unorthodox look was her “vibe.”
The mom of one also confirmed her dress was “tea dipped,” so that she could “look like a ghost.”
“Which people also thought was weird,” she added, “but I loved it. And I have no regrets.”
Roberts wore the off-white, silk chiffon gown for her nuptials, before she changed into a black strapless Chantilly lace corset and tea-length skirt for the after-party.
She described theme of her second look as “boudoir saloon” to Vogue.
On the podcast, Roberts gave new details about her “amazing” wedding to John, whom she started dating in 2022.
“It was at his family’s house in the backyard. We put up a tent and had the time of our lives,” she divulged. “I had like, not low expectations, but I didn’t want to get too excited about it.”
“Everyone tries to tell you like, there can be drama and this and that,” Roberts continued. “So I was just going into it like, ‘It is what it is.’ It really was one of the best nights of my whole life.”
Roberts also said she wasn’t “rigid with the guest list” for the couple’s 200-person wedding, which her dad, actor Eric Roberts, missed.
“A couple of people last minute were like, ‘Can I bring so and so?’ I was like, ‘Yeah, sure, fine. Just get here.”
For her “magical” day, Roberts’ 5-year-old son Rhodes, whom she shares with ex Garrett Hedlund, walked her down the aisle.
“That was like cute and so sweet,” the “Madame Web” star shared of the special moment. “He was so excited.”
