It looks like Zosia Mamet may be sharing why she walked away from her role on Mad Men.
The Girls alum revealed the reason she made an abrupt exit from guest-starring on an acclaimed TV series for two seasons when she was 19, which fans have speculated was about the same age she was when she filmed her role as Joyce Ramsay in the AMC drama.
For Zosia—who appeared on Mad Men for several episodes in seasons four and five, which aired from 2010 to 2012—her decision to quit the unnamed show came down to a bad interaction she said she had with the series’ showrunner.
“We were doing a blocking rehearsal when he showed up on set,” the 37-year-old recalled in her new collection of essays Does This Make Me Funny?, per The Hollywood Reporter. “The scene was short and easy. I was meant to come into the office, tell everyone I had photos of something important, remove them from the manila envelope I was carrying, and place them on the table.”
When Zosia ran through her part in the scene, however, she said the showrunner—whose name she did not disclose—overhauled the director’s role and called “cut.”
