As the second season of League One Volleyball (LOVB, pronounced “love”) gets underway Jan. 7, the fast-growing women’s sports league is building significant buzz, thanks in part to investors like Chelsea Handler and Lindsey Vonn adding major star power to the brand.

How many teams are part of LOVB?
League One Volleyball currently consists of six teams based in Atlanta, Austin, Houston, Madison, Nebraska and Salt Lake City. The franchise is set to expand into three new cities in 2027, with teams set to debut in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Minnesota.
Does LOVB have any notable players?
There are currently 19 Olympians across the league including LOVB Madison’s Xiangyu Gong, who earned a gold medal at the 2016 Summer Games in Rio. LOVB Nebraska also features Ana Carolina da Silva and Anne Buijs, who have both competed in two Olympic Games.
