Kelly Clarkson revealed she has been letting her two kids sleep with her “quite a bit” since the death of her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock.
The TV host shared that the one thing she does every day that brings her joy is morning “snuggles” with her kids, River Rose, 11, and Remington “Remy” Alexander, 9.
“My kids, they’re 9 and 11,” she explained during a fan Q&A session posted Saturday. “Kind of that special little fun stage where they can wipe their own behinds, but they’re still small enough to, like, love cuddling and love snuggles.”
“There’s been a lot for our family recently, and so I have allowed my kids to sleep with me quite a bit. So it’s my two dogs, my kids and me, it’s a lot,” Clarkson, 43, added.
“It’s been really special, though. The conversations you have during that time are pretty cute. So that’s probably my favorite time of day.”
Additionally, the “Since You’ve Been Gone” songstress shared that she and her kids spent New Year’s Day hiking and walking on the beach.
Clarkson and Blackstock were married from 2013 to 2022 and share River and Remington.
The businessman tragically died in August 2025 after a private battle with melanoma at the age of 48.
At the time, a spokesperson for the family revealed that he had been battling cancer for “more than three years.”
An insider exclusively told Page Six that Clarkson had briefly stepped away from “The Kelly Clarkson Show” in early 2025 to help care for Blackstock.
“Despite their difficult divorce, he’s still the man she loved and still her kids’ father,” a source told us at the time of the talent manager’s passing.
The “Because of You” singer also canceled the remainder of her Las Vegas residency ahead of Blackstock’s death.
Clarkson returned to her talk show in late September 2025 and discussed grief with her guest Lionel Richie shortly after.
“I do think a lot of people deal with grief in such a different way, but I love that you say, ‘Grief is the great teacher of what matters most,’” she told the “All Night Long” crooner, 76.
Talk show employees told the Daily Mail last November that Clarkson was “back” to her old self, with her morale being heightened.
