Why ‘Harry Potter’ Director Chris Columbus Says HBO Series Feels Like “More of the Same”
Rest assured, Slytherin fans: Draco Malfoy will be getting more moments in the spotlight.
As HBO continues filming on its upcoming Harry Potter series, Lox Pratt, the 14-year-old actor taking on the role of a young Draco, is sharing new details about what to expect—and how his character will differ from the novels and films.
“I think with this adaptation, you get to see so much more than the books,” he told 1883 Magazine in an interview published on Feb, 6. “[The books] are very much over Harry’s shoulder, which is great, and that’s how they played the film as well. And I think [showrunners] Francesca [Gardiner] and Mark [Mylod] have been audible about this in their interviews, there’s just so much more that you get to see.”
Indeed, part of what fans will learn is more about Draco’s backstory and why his character—who was first portrayed by Tom Felton in the films—becomes the “villain” alongside his father Lucius Malfoy.
