Emmys safety nearly interrupted a euphoric night time for Zendaya‘s mother.
Claire Stoermer hilariously recalled her night time on the 2022 Emmys minutes earlier than her daughter received Excellent Actress in a Drama Collection for Euphoria. In an effort to appease Zendaya’s nerves, Claire approached the star’s desk—till she was held up by safety.
“[I] made my strategy to Z earlier than they awarded her the Emmy and gave her the most important hug and stated… breathe!!!” Claire wrote in an Instagram Story posted Sept. 13. The one drawback? “The person who tried to cease me stated ‘the place are your credentials?'”
Fortunately, Claire knew simply what to say.
“i stated ‘i am zendaya’s mother’ and saved strolling!!” she continued, including laughing emojis. “hahaha! i by no means identify drop like that however i’ve to do it!”
The magic phrases labored, and Claire was readily available to look at the actress give her acceptance speech.
“Thanks to the Academy, thanks to my family and friends, a few of that are right here tonight.” Zendaya stated throughout her speech, pausing to chuckle as her mother cheered. “Thanks to Sam [Levinson] for sharing Rue with me, thanks for believing in me even in moments the place I did not imagine in myself.”
