Congratulations are in order for Nick Viall and his wife, Natalie Joy!
The couple announced they are pregnant and expecting twins — just months after announcing they experienced three miscarriages in one year.
“Our rainbow babies are finally ready to join us and this time it’s TWINS 🌈🌈,” they captioned their joint Instagram announcement on Wednesday.
The parents shared a photo of Joy cradling her growing baby bump as they planted a kiss on their 2-year-old daughter, River Rose. In their hands, they held a photo of Joy’s ultrasound photos.
“It’s surreal. It’s a dream come true,” Natalie, 26, told E! News, who was the first to report the “Viall Files” hosts’ happy news.
“I can’t believe I get to even say the words out loud that I’m pregnant and that I’m this far along and that I’m having twins. It’s crazy to me. It feels like a fever dream,” Joy continued.
The pair couldn’t contain their excitement as they looked at the possibility of future children following Joy’s difficult fertility journey.
Viall revealed that Joy had suffered a third miscarriage during an August episode of their podcast as he explained her absence from the show.
“As you can see, Natalie is not with us. There’s no really easy way to talk about this. … Sadly, Natalie experienced another miscarriage. It is her third this year, our third this year. There’s no really good way to say it — it f–king sucks,” Viall, 45, said at the time.
“She’s obviously at home resting, healing, both physically and emotionally,” he added, making sure to note that the couple wanted to be “vulnerable” and “open” with their audience.
“Our family is getting more and more complete. And hopefully at some point we can try for a fourth, and then we’ll have all the babies we lost back with us,” she said on Wednesday.
As for the babies they mourned last year, the influencer said she and the “Bachelor” alum looked at “it in a way where we’re kind of like, these babies just weren’t ready for us yet.”
“When they’re ready, they’re going to come,” she continued.
The podcaster told the outlet that he learned of the good news after Joy returned home from her doctor’s appointment, which Viall was unable to attend because they were unable to find a babysitter for their daughter.
“She walks in the door, she’s crying, so I’m just assuming bad news. And so then she told me twins. And it was, honestly, it was just such a surreal moment. I went from thinking, ‘Oh, more bad news’ to ‘Oh, my God, there’s two,’” he recalled.
Her husband reflected on their loss adding, “the fears that we have are natural and they make sense” after experiencing pregnancy losses.
However, this time around, he shared that the pair is focused on the “positives” and noted they “have a lot to be grateful for.”
