Jackson Browne announces death of son Ethan Browne, 52

Jackson Browne’s son, Ethan Browne, has died. He was 52 years old.

The “Raising Helen” star was reported dead after he was found “unresponsive in his home” on Tuesday morning, according to a Facebook post shared by Jackson, 77, on Wednesday.

“It is with deep sorrow that we share that on the morning of November 25, 2025, Ethan Browne, the son of Jackson Browne and Phyllis Major, was found unresponsive in his home and has passed away,” the statement read.

“We ask for privacy and respect for the family during this difficult time. No further details are available at this moment.”

A rep for Jackson did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

The famed singer-songwriter welcomed Ethan with Phyllis Major in 1973. The pair tied the knot in 1975.

Jackson’s marriage to Major eventually ended in 1976 when she tragically died by suicide at age 30.

In 2021, Jackson reflected on Major’s death in an interview with Route Magazine, saying his son became his “main focus” afterward.

“I only had two things that I hoped I could fit together: being a songwriter and a father,” he said. “And I looked at it like this, if I have to only be a father, I hope I’ll know it, and just do that. “

Ethan grew up to make a career for himself as an actor and model.

As a child, he appeared alongside his famous dad on the cover of Rolling Stone in 1974 — when he was just six months old.
