Macaulay Culkin Sets Record Straight on Longstanding Rumors About ‘Home Alone’ Movie
If you forgot about Macaulay Culkin’s name change, you’re not alone.
The 45-year-old reminded fans of his “actual name” at A Nostalgic Night with Macaulay Culkin, an event celebrating the 35th anniversary of Home Alone—which he starred in as the mischievous Kevin McCallister—at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center in Long Beach, Calif Nov. 22.
Refreshing fans’ memories that his name change was the result of a poll on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in Nov. 2018, he told the audience, “My name is Macaulay Macaulay Culkin Culkin.”
At the time, the poll prompted fans to revise Macaulay’s middle name as part of the bit. And as he reminded the audience, the options ranged from “The McRib is Back” to “Kieran”—a nod to his brother Kieran Culkin.
“Macaulay Kieran Culkin. That would be great,” Macaulay told the audience. “I love my brother.”
Referencing Kieran’s Oscars win for his performance in A Real Pain, Macaulay—who shares sons Dakota, 4, and Carson, 2, with Brenda Song—jokingly added, “Between me and him we have exactly one Oscar.”
