Brittany Cartwright is sharing more insight behind her decision to end her marriage to Jax Taylor.
The 35-year-old has explained why she filed for divorce from her estranged husband, her costar on Bravo’s Vanderpump Rules spinoff The Valley and father of their son Cruz, 3.
“Many have said online they think this has been a publicity stunt for the show or to garner ratings, and it’s the furthest thing from that,” Cartwright said on the Aug. 30 episode of the former couple’s podcast When Reality Hits With Jax and Brittany. “My decision to file wasn’t made lightly or quickly.”
Cartwright filed for divorce from Taylor, 45, on Aug. 27 after five years of marriage and six months after the Vanderpump Rules alumni announced their separation.
“It’s taken me many, many years to get to this point where I’ve gained enough courage to strength to do what was best for me, get myself out of a toxic relationship and ultimately see my worth,” Cartwright said on the podcast. “It’s been very difficult, but I’m stronger than ever and my motivation is my son, my cruisey, who deserves a happy and healthy mommy.”
